Kara Laukhuf, COTA
Occupational Therapy Assistant

Hello! My name is Kara and I have been a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA) for 12 years. I graduated in 2005 from Brown Mackie College South Bend. I have worked in various settings including hospitals, schools and pediatric clinics.
I have worked with children with autism, sensory integration disorder, developmental delay, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries among many other diagnoses. My continuing education has focused on sensory integration, NDT, seating and positioning, managing behavior issues, Handwriting Without Tears and nutrition. It has been so fun to be a part of the team at Joe’s Kids since we opened in ’14. My favorite part of working with the children is seeing them gain confidence as they learn new skills. I am thankful to have had the opportunity to travel on two mission trips to Ecuador to work with children and teach about autism, sensory integration and nutrition.
