Hello! My name is Courtney, and I am a certified occupational therapy assistant (COTA). I graduated from Huntington University in 2023 as part of the new bachelor’s program for occupational therapy assistants. As part of my degree, I developed an educational framework for libraries for increasing accessibility for neurodiverse children and developing family support. I have worked with kids for several years in different settings ranging from one-on-one therapies to planning community events. I look forward to continuing to expand my education and learn about different diagnoses to better help children in the community to achieve their goals. My favorite part of working with children is seeing the ‘lightbulb’ moment when they learn a new skill or achieve a new goal. I am thankful to be a member of the Joe’s Kids team as a COTA and to connect with children and families to make a positive difference in their lives.
