Rebecca Bazzoni, MS, PT
Hello! My name is Rebecca Bazzoni and I have been practicing physical therapy for 18 years. I received my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Marquette University and my Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. I started my career in outpatient orthopedics but made the jump to pediatrics in 2006. Serving as an Indiana First Steps therapist for 7 years, I saw the need for an outpatient pediatric facility in our community. With the help of Jacob’s Ladder Pediatric Rehab in Valparaiso, I opened a pediatric clinic here in Warsaw in 2013. We grew quickly and became our own entity, Joe’s Kids, in February 2014. I have worked with a wide variety of ages and diagnoses and my continuing education has focused on: NDT, sensory integration, seating and positioning, orthotic management and treatment techniques for neurological disorders. With the growth of our clinic, my job focus has shifted to administrative duties, but I continue to see a small caseload of kids and hope to always do so. What I love most about my job is seeing our children face new challenges and succeed.
Alicyn Turner, DPT
Hello! My name is Alicyn Turner, and I have been a Doctor of Physical Therapy since 2017. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science in 2011 from Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. I then went on to complete my Doctorate of Physical Therapy from A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona in 2017. My clinical internships were spent in both the outpatient pediatric and school-based settings. I became involved with Special Olympics Idaho prior to PT school, and that experience is what truly made me fall in love with working with the pediatric population. My continuing education so far has focused on: pediatric gait analysis, torticollis, pediatric yoga, cancer rehab and pediatric kinesiotaping. I have a passion for working with children of all abilities, and I am excited that I can bring this passion to Joe’s Kids where I can focus on enhancing your child’s physical and functional abilities. Movement is medicine!
Joanna Cohan, PTA
My name is Joanna Cohan and I have been a physical therapist assistant (PTA) since graduating from Brown Mackie College in 2011. While attending school, I knew that I wanted to work in pediatrics, but my clinical experience was with adults in acute, rehabilitation, and long-term care. After graduating in 2011 I began my career in a pediatric outpatient clinic and have worked in pediatrics ever since. I have experience working with a variety of diagnoses in the pediatric setting including: autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, Down Syndrome, and other genetic and developmental disorders. I have continuing education in: seating and positioning, tone management, Kinesio-Taping, TheraSuit Method, and If You Can't Breathe You Can't Function. I love working at JOE's and treating a variety of diagnoses. My favorite thing is seeing kids become stronger and realize they can now do things other kids do, like: jump, walk on a balance beam, ride a bike, or climb the rock wall.
